Kawasaki launches 2020 W800 Street at Rs 799,000

India Kawasaki Motors has launched the Model Year 2020 W800 Street retro motorcycle at Rs 799,000.

The latest addition to the company's retro motorcycle line-up is a take on Kawasaki's 1966 W1, the largest-displacement Japanese bike at the time and one that played a major role in establishing Kawasaki as a manufacturer of large-displacement motorcycles, and is the foundation of the W series of bikes. It also inspired the birth of legendary sportbikes such as the Kawasaki Z1 and Ninja H2.

The W800 Street is powered by an air-cooled 773cc vertical twin engine and features an updated modern double-cradle frame design and modern suspension components. Other highlights include W1-inspired styling, comfortable riding stance, crafted exhaust note emphasising 360deg crankshaft; Kawasaki Advanced Dynamic Analysis designed frame; sporty handling and a sculpted fuel tank.

India Kawasaki Motors is one of the very few OEMs with a positive sales record in the ongoing fiscal. In June 2019, the company sold 251 units (+43%) and in the April-June 2019 period, a total of 687 units (+56%). Will the W800 put more pep into its sales? Stay tuned for more.
