AlphaVector's Ninety One cycles surpasses 3 million sales, expands into electric two-wheelers

AlphaVector (India) Pvt. Ltd., the company behind the Ninety One Cycles brand, has surpassed a significant milestone by selling over 3 million bicycles, including a record 440,000 units in 2024. The company experienced over 100% sales growth in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand, driven by increasing demand for accessible and dependable mobility options.

Building on its success, AlphaVector has announced its entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market with the launch of low-speed electric two-wheelers. This development reflects the company’s efforts to diversify its offerings to address evolving consumer mobility needs.

Ninety One Cycles has established itself as a recognized active lifestyle and mobility brand in India. Its products are widely popular in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, where cycling is gaining traction for both fitness and daily commuting. The brand offers a variety of bicycles, including mountain bikes, fat-tire bikes, hybrid bikes, and electric cycles, catering to a broad demographic that includes urban youth, fitness enthusiasts, rural commuters, and environmentally conscious users.

The company’s focus on innovative design, engineering, and affordability has resonated with customers, especially in Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 cities.

Sachin Chopra, Co-founder and CEO of AlphaVector, commented on the milestone, stating, “This accomplishment reflects the confidence our customers have in Ninety One. Looking ahead, we aim to expand into the electric two-wheeler segment to provide accessible and practical mobility solutions.”

AlphaVector’s move into low-speed electric two-wheelers follows its experience in the electric cycle market over the past four years. The company plans to offer cost-effective and reliable options suited for regions benefiting from improved infrastructure, such as electrification and road development. Leveraging its existing distribution network and customer base, AlphaVector seeks to promote eco-friendly transportation across a diverse audience, including urban and rural users.

The low-speed electric vehicle market in India is gaining momentum as infrastructure developments and demand for affordable, sustainable commuting solutions grow. These vehicles have become a practical option for short-distance travel, particularly in smaller cities.

Ninety One’s success is supported by its direct-to-consumer approach, which combines online and offline channels, along with the 91CARES program. This initiative connects each purchase to post-sale services through a network of over 1,000 retail stores in 500 cities, focusing on personalized assembly, servicing, and continued support.
