Kirloskar Ferrous Flags Partial Disruption at Solapur Plant Amid LPG Supply Constraints
The company attributed the supply shortfall to disruptions in global energy markets arising from the ongoing Middle East conflict, which has strained LPG availability.
Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited has reported a temporary disruption in operations at its Solapur facility, citing constraints in the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) linked to ongoing global energy supply chain challenges.
In a regulatory filing, the company said that one of the two High Pressure Moulding Lines at its Solapur plant has been impacted, with the disruption taking effect from March 17, 2026, and expected to continue until further notice.
The company attributed the supply shortfall to disruptions in global energy markets arising from the ongoing Middle East conflict, which has strained LPG availability. The situation highlights how geopolitical developments are increasingly influencing industrial supply chains, particularly in energy-intensive sectors such as metal casting and automotive component manufacturing.
Kirloskar Ferrous, a key player in the iron casting and pig iron segment, relies on LPG as a critical input in its moulding processes. Any interruption in supply can directly affect production efficiency and output levels.
The company stated that its management is actively monitoring the evolving situation and is working to mitigate the impact. Efforts are underway to secure alternative sources of LPG supply or explore substitute fuel options to sustain operations.
“The management is exploring alternate sources of supply or use of other resources to minimize the impact of the disruption,” the company noted in its communication.
The development comes at a time when Indian manufacturing companies are navigating a complex global environment marked by volatile energy prices, supply chain bottlenecks, and geopolitical uncertainties. For companies in the auto component and metal industries, consistent access to fuel and raw materials remains critical to maintaining production schedules.
Kirloskar Ferrous, part of the larger Kirloskar Group, supplies castings to automotive and industrial sectors, making operational continuity essential amid rising demand and competitive pressures.
The company has not specified a timeline for full restoration of operations but indicated that updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
