How CAMSO Is Reshaping CEAT’s Specialty Tyre Business
The CAMSO acquisition gives CEAT access to construction tyres, tracks and new global customers as its Ambernath plant prepares to expand. The next challenge is to lift utilisation at CAMSO and turn a broader portfolio into sustained growth.

At CEAT Specialty’s Ambernath plant near Mumbai, the next round of capacity expansion is taking shape as the existing factory operates close to its limit. Built in 2017 with a focus on agricultural radial tyres, the facility is now preparing to increase its capacity from 105 tonnes per day to 160 tonnes per day.
Amit Tolani, Chief Executive of CEAT Specialty, said the plant is operating at 90-95% utilisation and that the current capacity has already been sold. The expansion, which he expects to come onstream within roughly two months, is intended to support further growth in established export ...
