Suzuki India launches 2019 Gixxer 250 at Rs 160,000
The Gixxer SF 250’s naked sibling makes 26.5hp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm; rivals the Yamaha FZ25
Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the new Gixxer 250 at Rs 160,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Suzuki Gixxer 250 is, in essence, the naked version of the Gixxer SF 250 with a single-piece handlebar and an upright riding position.
The Gixxer 250 looks quite similar to its younger sibling, the Suzuki Gixxer 155. It has the same LED headlamp design, split seats, fuel tank shape and tank extensions. The bigger Gixxer, however, gets a prominent plastic belly pan. The digital instrument panel has negative LCD display unlike the white backlit LCD display on the smaller Gixxer.
The Gixxer 250's dual-tone, grey and white colours stand out and so do the bronze-finished engine casings and side panels. The bike is also avaible in an all-black paint scheme.
The Gixxer 250 sports the same chassis, suspension, wheels and tyres as the Gixxer SF 250. They also share the same 249cc, single-cylinder, SOHC oil-cooled engine that makes 26.5hp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The fuel-injected unit comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Gixxer 250 has a kerb weight of 156kg, making it 5kg lighter than the full-faired Gixxer SF 250

In terms of safety, the Gixxer 250 gets dual-channel ABS as standard.
Speaking at the launch of the Gixxer 250, Koichiro Hirao, company head, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, “In the last five years, Gixxer brand has become synonymous with Suzuki’s attributes of quality, style and performance. It is our constant endeavour to bring a fresh perspective and value to this brand. Today, we are thrilled to launch a stylish and powerful biking experience to our patrons in the form of the Suzuki Gixxer 250. This product is a true reflection of Suzuki’s legacy in developing high-performance motorcycles of superior quality, backed by cutting-edge technology. With this addition to the Gixxer portfolio, we look forward to riding upwards and continue the growth momentum.”
