In Conversation with Mercedes Benz India's Santosh Iyer
Over 25 percent of Mercedes-Benz India's sales volumes come from feature- and creature-comfort-loaded top-end models of its offerings.
One in every four cars sold by Mercedes Benz India comes from the over Rs 1.5 crore price band, a category defined as the TEV or ‘top end vehicles’ by the company.
Santosh Iyer, the MD and CEO of the German luxury carmaker's Indian arm talks about how the company has doubled the TEV share from 12 percent in 2018 to 25 percent now, and how luxury consumers are getting more discerning towards getting more creature comforts and features. Iyer is hopeful of Mercedes-Benz India registering double-digit growth in CY2023, and eyeing another record year of sales.
