India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) is intensifying its assault in the SUV segment, where it is keen to amplify its market share that stood at 17.5 percent in the last quarter of FY23. The company is all set to introduce two new SUVs - Fronx and Jimny - in the coming weeks and aims to grow its SUV market share to 25 percent in FY24.

Shashank Srivastava talks about how the new SUV charge will enable the carmaker to regain 50 percent hold of the overall Indian passenger vehicle market, and how the company is targeting young and tech-savvy buyers with the new SUVs which will be retailed from its premium Nexa outlets. MSIL is also taking on the task of making Nexa the No. 2 standalone car brand in the country with an aim to retail 600,000 units from its premium retail showroom chain.
