Ultraviolette Rolls Out Gen3 Powertrain Firmware and Ballistic+ Mode for F77 Motorcycles

Ultraviolette has launched a new Gen3 Powertrain Firmware for its F77 electric motorcycles, along with an upgraded riding mode named ‘Ballistic+’. The update, developed using data from over 8 million kilometres of real-world riding, is aimed at improving performance and responsiveness across all F77 variants.

The new Ballistic+ mode offers a sharper and quicker acceleration experience and is available to both new and existing F77 customers. The update is backward-compatible and will be offered free of charge.

The firmware draws on insights collected by Violette A.I., Ultraviolette’s connected intelligence system, which analyses real-time data including throttle inputs, ride patterns, and terrain variations. The system helps continuously refine and optimize the performance of the battery and drivetrain.

Ultraviolette had earlier introduced the F77 Mach 2 in 2024, which brought in safety and control features such as traction control, dynamic stability control (UVDSC), ten levels of regenerative braking, and hill-hold assist. The latest update builds on this foundation with improvements driven by the vehicle's onboard intelligence system.

CEO and Co-founder Narayan Subramaniam said the goal is to enable machines to evolve and improve over time, diverging from the industry norm of planned obsolescence. CTO and Co-founder Niraj Rajmohan added that the Gen3 update showcases the integration of advanced hardware and intelligent software to deliver enhanced electric performance.

Founded in 2016, Ultraviolette is focused on developing future-ready electric vehicle platforms and battery technologies. The company is supported by investors such as Lingotto (a subsidiary of EXOR N.V.), Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motor Company, and Speciale Invest.
