Chartered Speed Expands Electric Bus Operations Across Rajasthan

Chartered Speed has deployed electric buses across eight Rajasthan cities under PM e-Bus Sewa, taking EVs to 25% of its 2,000-plus nationwide bus fleet.

Chartered Speed Expands Electric Bus Operations Across Rajasthan

Chartered Speed Limited has expanded its electric bus operations to all eight primary urban nodes in Rajasthan under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme, according to the company. The deployment covers Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bhilwara and Alwar.

The company said the expansion has increased the share of electric vehicles in its nationwide operating fleet from approximately 10% to 25%. Chartered Speed currently operates more than 2,000 buses across its various mobility operations.

The Rajasthan deployment covers the state’s eight primary urban centres. As part of the current rollout, 24 e-buses have commenced operations in Jaipur and Bhilwara, while another 47 buses have been deployed across Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota, Alwar, Ajmer and Jodhpur.

The company said the expansion follows an earlier secured order for more than 800 buses in Rajasthan. Chartered Speed said its wider nationwide fleet serves more than 3.5 lakh passengers daily across multiple mobility segments.

71 E-Buses Deployed Across Eight Rajasthan Cities

The current rollout covers a combined 71 e-buses across the eight cities, based on the deployment figures provided by the company. The 24 buses operating in Jaipur and Bhilwara are supplemented by 47 buses across the other six cities.

Chartered Speed said the expansion is part of its electric mass-transit operations under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme. The company has described the deployment as complete electric bus coverage across Rajasthan’s eight primary urban nodes.

800-Bus Order Supports Rajasthan Expansion

The company’s Whole-Time Director, Sanyam Gandhi, said the expansion involves more than 800 e-buses and a 22MW charging backbone. He said the company’s approach is aimed at integrating electric buses into high-density corridors and supporting infrastructure investment.

Expansion Adds Over 1,500 Direct Jobs

According to Chartered Speed, the Rajasthan scale-up will generate more than 1,500 direct skilled jobs across telemetry, fleet management, technical maintenance and driving operations.

Established in 2010, Chartered Speed operates intercity and intra-city transportation services across six states and has activities spanning public transportation, employee mobility, school transportation and electric mobility.
