Royal Enfield Enters EV Space With Flying Flea C6 at ₹2.79 Lakh; BaaS Option Lowers Entry to ₹1.99 Lakh
Bookings open April 10 in Bengaluru; deliveries from end-May as the company begins phased rollout.
Royal Enfield on Thursday entered the electric motorcycle segment with the launch of the Flying Flea C6 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.79 lakh, becoming the first traditional motorcycle maker in the country to roll out an electric motorcycle.
In a bid to lower the upfront cost, the company is offering the motorcycle at Rs 1.99 lakh under a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option. Bookings will open on April 10 in Bengaluru, with deliveries scheduled from end-May, the company said.
The Eicher Motors-owned brand said it will follow a phased rollout, beginning with Bengaluru, as it looks to build a presence in the premium electric motorcycle segment. The Flying Flea C6 is positioned as an urban-focused electric motorcycle, with the company aiming to differentiate on design, performance and connectivity rather than compete on price.
The model is the first product under the Flying Flea brand, which was unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan in 2024, where the company had announced two motorcycles—the classic-styled FF-C6 and the scrambler-styled FF-S6. The C6 will be followed by the S6 as part of the brand’s initial product portfolio.
Royal Enfield said the Flying Flea brand draws inspiration from its original lightweight motorcycle developed in the 1940s for military deployment during World War II, reflecting a focus on compact, purpose-built mobility.
The company added that the new electric brand will primarily target urban mobility needs, with no immediate plans to spin off the EV business into a separate unit.
Managing Director B Govindarajan said the launch marks the company’s entry into electric motorcycling, with a pipeline of electric products planned over time.

The Flying Flea C6 offers a top speed of 115 km per hour and delivers over 400 Nm of wheel torque. It is powered by a 3.91 kWh battery pack and supports multiple charging options, including rapid, standard and trickle modes, with charging from 20% to 80% taking just over 60 minutes.
The motorcycle integrates the motor, battery, battery management system and vehicle control software into a single architecture designed to deliver a connected riding experience. It also features over-the-air updates, navigation and remote monitoring, along with rider-assist systems such as traction control and lean-angle ABS.
Royal Enfield has committed over Rs 1,500 crore to its electric vehicle programme and has been investing in research and development over the past few years. The company has set up a dedicated team of more than 250 engineers across India and the UK focused on electric mobility, with around 45 patent applications filed across technologies related to the platform.
While the company is setting up a dedicated electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Cheyyar, the initial set of electric motorcycles will be produced from a separate line at its Oragadam plant. Parent company Eicher Motors has also acquired about a 10% stake in Spanish electric motorcycle maker Stark Future as part of efforts to co-develop electric motorcycle technologies.
The move comes as competition intensifies in India’s electric two-wheeler market, though the electric motorcycle segment is still at a nascent stage with limited offerings from startups such as Ultraviolette Automotive, Matter Motor and Revolt Motors. Around 17,000 electric motorcycles were sold in FY26.
Meanwhile, Ather Energy is developing a motorcycle platform named Zenith, while Ola Electric has recently launched its first electric motorcycle, Roadster, underscoring growing interest in the segment despite still-evolving demand. Hero MotoCorp is also working on electric motorcycles.
