Hero MotoCorp Expands Vida Lineup With 4.4 kWh VX2 Plus Scooter
The new two-wheeler features a dual-battery configuration, with a capacity of 4.4kWh, delivering 6 kW peak power and a certified 187 kilometer range.
Hero MotoCorp Limited has expanded the product lineup of its electric mobility arm, Vida, with the introduction of the new VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh scooter variant. The long-range model has been introduced at an effective ex-showroom price of ₹1.43 lakh in New Delhi. The addition expands Vida's localized VX2 product line to four distinct battery and performance configurations.
The updated model architecture is equipped with a 4.4 kWh total battery capacity composed of dual 2.2 kWh removable lithium-ion units, achieving an Indian Driving Cycle certified range of 187 km. The electrical setup is paired with a 1 kW portable charger that completes a zero to 80 per cent charge cycle in 3 hours and 30 minutes, while high-speed DC fast-charging infrastructure can replenish the battery to 80 per cent capacity in 65 minutes. The vehicle line is supported by a domestic service network consisting of over 6,000 fast-charging stations and 700 service touchpoints.
The powertrain features an electric motor generating 6 kW of peak power and 26 Nm of torque, enabling a maximum top speed of 90 km/h across three primary operating modes designated as Eco, Ride, and Sports. Cabin and rider utility features encompass a 4.3-inch TFT instrument display, smartphone connectivity software, over-the-air digital updates, turn-by-turn navigation tracking, 27.2 litres of under-seat storage volume, and a combined braking system. Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer of the Emerging Mobility Business Unit at Hero MotoCorp, stated that the multi-variant strategy aims to offer flexible range options alongside alternative Battery-as-a-Service ownership plans.
Prior to its commercial deployment, a pre-production unit secured an entry in the Asia Book of Records for the longest electric scooter journey by completing a continuous 12,111 km cross-country endurance run over 52 days. The manufacturer plans to commence nationwide retail deliveries through authorized dealership networks by the end of July 2026.
