Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri Inaugurates Green Auto Tech Show
India's automotive sector demonstrates alternative fuel vehicles and sustainable mobility solutions at four-day energy conference in New Delhi, featuring participation from major manufacturers and international delegates.
India's Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, launched the sustainable mobility exhibition at India Energy Week 2025, highlighting the country's push toward cleaner transportation technologies.
The pavilion, organised by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), features production vehicles from major manufacturers demonstrating various alternative fuel technologies, including electric, hydrogen, and bio-gas powered vehicles.
"The Indian automobile industry is contributing to the nation's energy transition," Puri said at the inauguration. He emphasised the importance of collaboration between energy and transportation sectors in achieving sustainability goals.
Leading automotive companies including Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Hyundai are displaying their latest green technologies at the four-day event, being held at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka. The exhibition showcases the industry's multi-pronged approach to reducing carbon emissions through different powertrain solutions.
SIAM Executive Director Prashant K Banerjee emphasised the automotive sector's alignment with India's Net Zero targets. "The industry remains committed to advancing green mobility solutions," he said.
The event, running from February 11-14, has attracted over 70,000 delegates from 120 countries, including 20 foreign energy ministers and 90 CEOs from global energy companies. It serves as a platform for international dialogue on energy transition as part of India's G20 Presidency initiatives.
The sustainable mobility pavilion reflects India's broader commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2070, demonstrating the automotive industry's role in this long-term environmental goal.
