Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Sales Rise 29% YoY in January 2026

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported strong sales momentum in January 2026, clocking total sales of 5,74,411 units, marking a 29% year-on-year increase compared with the same month last year.

Of the total volumes, domestic sales accounted for 5,19,579 units, while exports stood at 54,832 units, underscoring steady demand for HMSI’s two-wheeler portfolio across both Indian and overseas markets.

For the year-to-date period of FY26 (April 2025 to January 2026), HMSI recorded cumulative sales of 52,53,205 units. Domestic volumes during the period were 47,23,979 units, while exports contributed 5,29,226 units, reflecting balanced growth across markets.

Beyond sales performance, the company continued to focus on road safety initiatives during January. Aligned with its “Safety for Everyone” vision, HMSI conducted road safety campaigns across multiple locations including Ahmednagar, Alibag, Ballabgarh, Bhubaneswar, Dausa, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hosapete, Kakinada, Kasaragod, Kurukshetra, Raipur and Surat. The programmes aimed to promote responsible riding practices and increase community awareness around road safety.

HMSI also organised a Road Safety Convention in Malappuram, Kerala, engaging school principals and teachers to encourage the adoption of safe road habits from an early age. In addition, the company launched the Jaipur Ideal Road Safety Project as part of National Road Safety Month and carried out a series of awareness campaigns nationwide.

On the network front, HMSI expanded its retail footprint with the addition of new authorised dealerships in Erode, Bilaspur, Moradabad and Udhampur. The company said these outlets are supported by trained sales and service teams to enhance customer experience and strengthen last-mile reach.

Reiterating its long-term focus, HMSI highlighted its commitment to safer and more accessible mobility through the adoption of technologies such as ABS, combined braking systems (CBS) and rider-assist features across its product range. The company said its efforts are aimed at contributing to a safer, cleaner and more sustainable mobility ecosystem in India.

With consistent sales growth, network expansion and continued emphasis on road safety, HMSI remains positioned as a key player in India’s two-wheeler market as it progresses through FY26.
