Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Expands Premium Portfolio with E-Clutch Variant Rollouts

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has expanded its domestic premium two-wheeler portfolio with the introduction of its updated 2026 big bike lineup. The primary operational highlight of the refresh is the integration of Honda’s proprietary E-Clutch technology into the company’s middleweight 755cc parallel-twin engine platform, debuting on the street naked CB750 Hornet and the adventure touring XL750 Transalp. Alongside the middleweight updates, the automaker has added a new color scheme to its flagship luxury touring Gold Wing model and retained the high-performance CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP as its premier sport offering to anchor its specialized retail operations.

Tsutsumu Otani, President and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, stated that the implementation of the electronic clutch architecture is designed to elevate the premium riding experience by delivering higher levels of operating comfort, ease of use, and overall rider confidence. Otani noted that the mechanical refinement aims to assist customers across diverse operating environments ranging from dense urban commuting to long-distance highway travel, reflecting the brand's broader engineering focus on bringing advanced powertrain technologies into the Indian market. Bookings for the entire updated portfolio have officially commenced across the company's dedicated Topline and BigWing sales networks nationwide.

The newly equipped CB750 Hornet E-Clutch is positioned to strengthen the manufacturer's presence in the competitive middleweight streetfighter segment, utilizing the automated system to simplify gearbox management during spirited and daily riding. The vehicle is powered by a liquid-cooled 755cc parallel-twin motor that develops 67.5 kilowatts of power and 75 Newton-meters of torque. On the chassis and technology front, the street naked bike integrates high-specification hardware including Showa 41mm separate function big piston upside-down front forks, dual 296 mm front disc brakes, multiple electronic riding modes, and a 5.0-inch full-color thin-film transistor instrument cluster featuring integrated smartphone connectivity.

Sharing the same 755cc engine architecture, the adventure-focused XL750 Transalp E-Clutch applies the electronic clutch layout to off-road and touring conditions. Producing identical power metrics of 67.5 kilowatts and 75 Newton-meters of torque, the multi-purpose motorcycle features a dedicated Gravel riding mode, Showa separate function cartridge upside-down front suspensions, a dual light-emitting diode headlamp assembly, and a 5.0-inch digital display dashboard. The structural combination of a flexible powertrain, automated clutch actuation, and long-travel suspension is intended to offer greater stability across varied terrain and mixed-road logistics.

At the apex of the luxury touring segment, the 2026 Gold Wing maintains its classic configuration but receives a new Gun Metal Black Metallic paint option. The touring platform is propelled by a massive 1833cc horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine coupled with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission that features a dedicated reverse and low-speed walking mode to assist in parking maneuvers. Standard convenience and safety features on the flagship tourer include an electronically adjustable front windscreen, an on-board airbag system, premium audio hardware, and wireless smartphone integration software.

For track-focused buyers, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP remains the core supersport model, driven by a 1000cc inline four-cylinder engine generating 160 kilowatts of power and 113 Newton-meters of torque. The high-performance machine utilizes elite racing aggregates including an Ohlins smart electronic suspension setup, Brembo Stylema R front brake calipers operating over 330 mm dual discs, and a titanium exhaust system manufactured by Akrapovic. Financial disclosures from the manufacturer place ex-showroom Gurugram pricing at 10.49 lakh rupees for the CB750 Hornet E-Clutch, 13.20 lakh rupees for the XL750 Transalp E-Clutch, 33.50 lakh rupees for the Fireblade SP, and 44.30 lakh rupees for the top-tier Gold Wing.
