Hero MotoCorp discontinues XPulse 200T, Xtreme 200S amid poor sales
Both the XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S shared their engine with the XPulse 200.
Hero has discontinued two 200cc models in one fell swoop: the XPulse 200T 4V and the Xtreme 200S 4V. Despite multiple updates, both bikes failed to achieve strong sales, which likely prompted Hero to take this decision.
Hero XPulse 200T, Xtreme 200S discontinued
Both the XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S used the same air/oil-cooled 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine as the XPulse 200, but were more street-focused. The Xtreme 200S was a fully-faired machine with very reasonable ergonomics and was more of a dressed-up commuter. In comparison, the XPulse 200T was basically an XPulse running on 17-inch alloy wheels.
At the time of their discontinuation, the XPulse 200T 4V was priced at Rs 1.40 lakh, while the Xtreme 200S commanded a slightly higher price of Rs 1.41 lakh. This made both these bikes more affordable than the XPulse 200 4V, which was priced between Rs 1.52 lakh and Rs 1.65 lakh.
It remains to be seen if Hero resurrects these two models down the line, possibly with the new 210cc engine that now powers the new Karizma XMR and the latest XPulse.
