HCLTech Launches NVIDIA-Powered V&V Solution for SDVs

Global technology services firm HCLTech has launched an AI-powered Verification and Validation (V&V) solution designed for software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Built in collaboration with NVIDIA, the system combines agentic AI, physical AI-driven simulation, and orchestration tools to automate vehicle software validation workflows for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers.

The technology addresses growing complexities in modern vehicles driven by frequent over-the-air (OTA) updates, intricate software architectures, and evolving global regulatory standards. Automotive developers currently face bottlenecks caused by fragmented software toolchains, manual testing processes, and labor-intensive compliance documentation, which delay vehicle software releases.

Addressing Bottlenecks in Software-Defined Vehicle Validation

Positioned within HCLTech’s Industry AI solutions portfolio, the V&V offering adopts a simulation-first approach. It connects requirement tracking, test generation, execution, failure analysis, and compliance verification across the entire validation lifecycle.

The system maintains a continuous digital trail linking requirements directly to test outcomes and regulatory reports. This setup allows engineering teams to identify and investigate software bugs faster while broadening total scenario test coverage.

Features of the NVIDIA-Powered V&V Solution

The framework combines HCLTech’s automotive engineering capabilities and Validation Factory model with several components of NVIDIA's simulation stack. Integrated technologies include NVIDIA Omniverse, NVIDIA Cosmos, NVIDIA Alpamayo, NVIDIA Omniverse NuRec, and NVIDIA Isaac Sim.

By utilizing these tools, developers can simulate complex driving conditions—including rare edge cases and safety-critical situations—in a virtual environment. This reduces dependency on physical prototype testing and offers clearer visibility into release readiness. Multi-agent workflows are orchestrated using the NVIDIA Agent Toolkit, with reasoning powered by NVIDIA Nemotron open models.

Executive Perspectives on Continuous Validation

Pankaj Tagra, Chief Growth Officer and Global Head of Mobility at HCLTech, stated that traditional validation setups are not built to keep pace with rapid software changes and complex system configurations. He noted that the new solution aims to transition the industry from periodic, manual testing toward continuous, AI-led virtual validation to accelerate software release cycles.

Dr. Sebastian Scheurle, EMEA Industry Lead for Automotive Enterprise at NVIDIA, highlighted that software validation now determines the pace of development for SDVs. He stated that integrating simulation tools like Omniverse and Cosmos helps automakers shift critical safety testing into virtual environments earlier in the development process.
