Ducati Unveils All-Black Monster Dark, India Launch in 2027
The Italian motorcycle maker introduces an entry-tier, stripped-back variant of its middleweight naked Monster bike.
Ducati has globally unveiled the new Monster Dark, a new entry-level variant within the Monster range. The motorcycle features a total-black livery, unpainted front frame sections, black exhaust end caps, dark wheels, and a single-material seat. International dealership deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2026, with the model expected to launch in India in 2027.
The Monster Dark retains the mechanical architecture of the standard Monster, powered by an 890 cc V2 engine, generating 111 hp at 9,000 rpm and 91.1 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The Monster Dark carries a kerb weight of 175 kg without fuel, reflecting a 4 kg weight reduction over the previous generation, and a seat height of 815 mm.
While Ducati did not reveal any tentative prices for the Monster Dark, it is expected to slot in below the standard Monster, which is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
Unlike the standard model, the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0 system is moved to the optional accessories list on the Dark variant, alongside cruise control, a flyscreen, and a passenger seat cowl. The standard electronics suite remains comprehensive, controlled via a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) linked to a 5-inch full-colour TFT display. The package includes four riding modes (Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet), Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, and Engine Brake Control.
