Ather Energy Deploys Conversational Audio Software on Electric Scooter Lineup.

Ather Energy Limited has initiated a broad software deployment to integrate voice-controlled capabilities into its electric scooter lineup. Distributed via an over the air software framework, the new Voice on Ather interface is being issued to all existing Gen 3 and subsequent vehicle platforms. The operational update is aimed at altering how operators engage with onboard systems, marking an intentional shift toward hands-free, software-driven experiences within the domestic electric two-wheeler segment.

The communication system uses artificial intelligence to interpret natural speech patterns, allowing riders to issue conversational instructions rather than navigating the physical touchscreen dashboard. The software functions through connected hardware, pairing with the company's proprietary smart helmet or alternative third-party Bluetooth headsets. Fleet data shows the update is being delivered directly to consumers operating the Ather 450X, 450 Apex, and the convenience-focused Rizta Z variants, eliminating the logistical requirement for physical dealership or service center visits.

Tarun Mehta, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ather Energy, stated that the implementation of audio interfaces represents the next major structural evolution for rider technology. Mehta noted that the long-term design objective is to construct an operating environment where motorists no longer need to look at an instrument display while in motion. The voice system governs multiple primary vehicle clusters, allowing users to execute navigation searches, track charging infrastructure, alter display configurations, manage music playback, adjust regenerative braking parameters, and transmit live telemetry data without removing their hands from the handlebars.
