Hero MotoCorp’s Vida electric two-wheeler brand has surpassed the 200,000 retail sales milestone in the domestic market. Cumulative sales from market launch in October 2022 till March 23, 2026, are 202,422 units. The surge in demand for the Vida e-scooters is reflected in the fact that while the first 100,000 units were sold in 34 months, the run from 100,001 to 200,000 units has taken just eight months.
As the retail sales data table below depicts, 182 units were sold in November-December 2022, followed by 11,141 units in CY2023. Demand for the zero-emission Hero Vidas rose strongly in CY2024 with 43,709 units, which is a 292% year-on-year increase and gave Hero MotoCorp a 4% share of the record 1.14 million e-two-wheelers sold in India that year and a No. 5 e-2W OEM ranking.

March 2026 will be the ninth month running that Hero Vida will register retail sales of over 10,000 units. While October 2025 (16,033 units) is its best month, March promises to outdo that.
CY2025 was when the company witnessed robust growth with 109,276 units, 150% YoY growth and an 8% market share. This was the immediate impact of Hero MotoCorp launching the new Vida VX2 model in December 2024. Another strategic sales driver was the introduction of the Battery As a Service (BaaS) ‘pay-as-you-go’ ownership model which significantly reduces the upfront ownership cost, making electric mobility more affordable and accessible to a wider customer base, and has since been adopted by Ather Energy and TVS Motor among other OEMs.
Last year (CY2025), Hero Vida registered retail sales of 109,276 e-scooters, up 150% YoY (CY2024: 43,719 units) and crossed the 100,000 units in a single calendar year for the first time. This robust performance in a competitive market was reflected in the monthly Top 10 e-2W OEM listing where the Vida brand was a regular. Ranked No. 7 in January, Hero MotoCorp rose to sixth in February, maintained its No. 5 position in March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October and then wrested No. 4 rank from Ola Electric in November and has held onto it in December, January and February 2026. While October 2025 (16,033 units) remains its best month to date, March 2026 could see a higher number. Sales in the first 23 days of this month have been 12,161 units.
In CY2026 YTD (January 1-March 23), Hero Vida has delivered 38,114 units, which marks handsome 2085 YoY growth and gives it an 11% market share of the 342,129 e-2Ws retailed by around 140 OEMs.

The VX2 Plus and Go with the BaaS option have powered demand for Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand.
Vida V2 and VX2: The Growth Accelerators
The surge in demand for the Hero Vida e-scooters has been driven by two products. The first is the Vida V2 launched in December 2024. The Vida 2 is essentially an evolution of the V1 range that Hero MotoCorp began its electric mobility journey four years ago.
The growth accelerator has been the Vida VX2 launched on July 1, 2025 at an e-2W-rival-worrying prices. As per the company website, the price of the VX2 Go (2.2 kWh) which costs Rs 74,000 ex-showroom drops to Rs 44,990 and the VX2 Plus (ex-showroom: Rs 94,800) to Rs 70,000 with the BaaS option which makes them amongst the most affordable e-scooters in India.
Given the growing demand for the Vida brand, Hero MotoCorp is also expanding its sales and service network for the e-scooter. The company, which opened its first Experience Centre on November 2022, currently has coverage across India with nearly 900 touchpoints spanning 415 cities and 700-plus dealers. And, Hero MotoCorp enables Vida users to access charging at over 5,000 locations including the Ather Grid network owned by Ather Energy in which Hero MotoCorp is an early investor.
In FY2025, Hero Vida had clocked retail sales of 48,734 units. In FY2026 YTD, the 135,029 units make for a 177% YoY increase, a growth rate which should further increase as the fiscal year winds down to a close.
