Mahindra Opens Fresh Bookings for XUV 7XO Premium SUV
Fresh bookings for the newly launched premium SUV begin today with deliveries commencing for select variants.
Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that fresh bookings for the XUV 7XO will open today at 10:00 AM IST, following the vehicle's official launch last week. The booking amount is Rs 21,000 through the company's dealership network across India and online channels.
The XUV 7XO was launched at an introductory price starting from Rs 13.66 lakh, applicable for the first 40,000 units. Prices extend up to Rs 24.92 lakh for the top diesel automatic all-wheel drive variant. Deliveries for select variants including the AX7, AX7T, and AX7L trims commence from today, with a phased rollout for remaining variants through April.
The vehicle represents a comprehensive update to the XUV700, which has accumulated over 300,000 customers since its launch four years ago. Last year, Mahindra sold over 80,000 units of the XUV700, helping the company overtake Hyundai and Tata Motors to claim second place in sales. The company describes the XUV 7XO as being engineered to meet evolving market expectations for advanced, high-performance SUVs.
Mahindra has indicated that production of the current XUV700 will conclude with the arrival of the XUV 7XO. The new model competes in the premium SUV segment against rivals including the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, and Jeep Meridian. The Mumbai-based company, founded in 1945, currently holds a leadership position in India's utility SUV market.
The XUV 7XO features exterior updates including revised LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped daytime running lamps, a slimmer grille, and reworked tail-lamps from the XEV 9S. Wheel size has increased to 19 inches on the top trim.
The interior showcases a triple-screen setup with three 12.3-inch displays as standard across all variants. Mahindra has eliminated the MX trims, making every variant an AX. The cabin features a tan theme, two-spoke steering wheel, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos. Both front seats are ventilated and powered.
Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard, with the AX7T trim adding a knee airbag and upgraded Level 2 ADAS suite using cameras with 3.7 times higher resolution than before.
The XUV 7XO continues with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol producing 203 horsepower and a 2.2-litre diesel generating 185 horsepower. Both engines pair with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
A key upgrade is the introduction of DaVinci dampers developed with Tenneco, which provide improved ride quality through more precise tuning. Despite larger wheels, the low-speed ride improves while high-speed stability remains strong.
Test drives are now available at dealerships, with customers able to select their preferred dealership, fuel type, and transmission option at the time of booking.
