Interview | Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility

EV market leader Tata Motors is optimistic about the country’s electric vehicle growth trajectory. The company expects India’s EV parc to double in the next 3-4 years.

While India has made significant progress in charging infrastructure, Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, believes the next step is to ensure high-speed, high-quality chargers in strategic locations that will help drive adoption for a new set of customers - the 'EV intenders.'

Under its Open Collaboration 2.0, Tata Motors is working to expand the charging network further, focusing on visibility and accessibility—two major barriers to EV adoption today. In this interview, Rajan says that there is a clear correlation between the presence of charging stations and EV adoption rates.
