BorgWarner keen to explore battery-tech localisation for CVs in India
The American Tier-1 major is eyeing growing demand for EV technology application in commercial vehicles, and will explore localisation of the LFP-type battery technology in the country.
American Tier-1 major BorgWarner, which is a prominent player in the commercial vehicle (CV) segment, is betting big on the electrification demand within the segment. The company, which is ready with its futuristic products for the market, is also keen to explore localisation of the battery technology in India.
At the recently-concluded Auto Expo 2025 - The Components Show - Johannes Rossmanith, Director - R&D, Battery Systems, BorgWarner, outlined future trends in battery technology, and the company's plans for the Indian CV market. "Electrification holds a huge potential in India. We are in talks with potential customers interested in the LFP technology. We can use our technology footprint and localise in India," he says in this interview.
