VECV Launches New Manufacturing Line for Eicher Pro X Small Trucks in Bhopal

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has inaugurated a dedicated manufacturing facility for its Eicher Pro X range of small trucks at its Bhopal plant and commenced customer deliveries. The facility, featuring an all-women final assembly line, was inaugurated by Volvo Group CEO Martin Lundstedt and Eicher Motors Chairman Siddhartha Lal on February 13.

The first batch of Eicher Pro X trucks was delivered to logistics companies following the product's launch at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The new truck range is designed for last-mile logistics operations, offering energy efficiency and loading capacity in its segment.

Martin Lundstedt noted India's progress in sustainable logistics and public transport during the inauguration. Siddhartha Lal highlighted the electric-first launch of Pro X as part of Eicher's modernization efforts in the commercial vehicle sector, while VECV Chairperson Sofia Frändberg emphasized the company's focus on manufacturing innovation and workplace inclusivity.

VECV Managing Director Vinod Aggarwal acknowledged the role of customers in the development process of the Pro X range, stating that the new product line aims to meet the requirements of modern logistics operations.

VECV, established as a joint venture between Sweden's Volvo Group and India's Eicher Motors, has maintained a significant presence in India's commercial vehicle market. The company has particularly strong positions in the light and medium-duty truck segments, where it holds market leadership. The new facility is part of VECV's Industry 4.0 compliant Bhopal factory complex.

The Indian commercial vehicle industry has been transitioning toward more sustainable and efficient solutions, driven by evolving logistics requirements and environmental regulations. The sector has seen increasing demand for last-mile delivery vehicles, particularly with the growth of e-commerce and quick commerce services in recent years.
