Tata Motors has expanded its commercial passenger vehicle lineup with the launch of the new Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime bus range at Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar. The company also showcased a broader portfolio of passenger mobility solutions, including CNG and electric buses, a last-mile electric vehicle and a city bus concept, aimed at serving school, staff, tourism, intercity, intracity and institutional transport segments.

The newly launched Ultra Prime and Starbus Prime range has been developed for school, staff and tourism operations. Tata Motors said the buses feature updated exterior styling, redesigned interiors, improved ride quality and reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels. The range is also equipped with 29 safety features, including a Driver Monitoring System, 360-degree camera, Intelligent Transport System (ITS) and Reverse Park Assist System (RPAS).

Among the new products on display was the LPO 1620 CNG, a CNG-powered bus designed for intercity and intracity passenger transport. According to the company, the model combines higher passenger-carrying capacity with lower operating costs while supporting cleaner mass mobility. Also showcased was the Ultra Prime LPO 412, a premium platform developed for tourism and long-distance operations with a focus on passenger comfort and intercity travel.

Expanding its electric mobility portfolio, Tata Motors displayed the Ultra Skool 9/9 EV, an electric school bus equipped with advanced safety systems, fast-charging capability and an extended operating range. The bus also offers an optional paint scheme and interior graphics designed to make travel more comfortable for neurodivergent children.

The company also unveiled the Ultra Prime RE Concept in India for the first time. Designed for urban bus operations, the concept focuses on improving passenger comfort, operational reliability and fleet productivity. Alongside it, Tata Motors exhibited the Magic EV, a zero-emission last-mile passenger mobility solution with a claimed range of up to 120 km on a single charge, as well as the Winger Plus people mover for staff, institutional and tourism applications.

In addition to the vehicle lineup, Tata Motors highlighted its customer support ecosystem, which includes over 4,600 sales and service touchpoints across the country. The company said customers also have access to its Sampoorna Seva 2.0 service programme, annual maintenance packages, fleet management solutions and genuine parts network to support vehicle uptime and operations.

"Prawaas has been an important platform for us to engage with fleet operators and industry stakeholders and gain deeper insights into how passenger transportation needs are evolving across the country," said Anand S, Vice President and Business Head – Commercial Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors.
