Hyundai, Jio-bp integrate EV charging networks across India
Hyundai Motor India integrates Jio-bp’s EV charging network, taking access on the myHyundai app to more than 37,000 charging points across India.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has partnered with Jio-bp to integrate their respective electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, giving EV users access to Jio-bp pulse charging stations through the myHyundai app.
The integration adds more than 7,000 Jio-bp pulse charging points across 300-plus cities to HMIL’s charging ecosystem. According to Hyundai, this takes the number of charging points accessible through the myHyundai app to more than 37,000 across India.
The partnership also provides for HMIL’s high-capacity DC fast chargers to be gradually made available through the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app. The companies said the integration is intended to give EV users access to both charging networks through their respective digital platforms.
Jio-bp adds 7,000-plus EV charging points
Jio-bp contributes more than 7,000 active charging points spread across over 300 cities. The company said a number of these charging stations are located along major national highways.
Its charging infrastructure includes DC fast chargers with capacities ranging from 60kW to 480kW. Jio-bp said its charging network has a 96 per cent uptime.
myHyundai app expands access to 37,000-plus charging points
HMIL had previously announced access to more than 30,000 charging points through the myHyundai app. Adding the Jio-bp pulse network increases the number of public EV charging points available through the platform to more than 37,000.
The company said EV users can use the myHyundai app, regardless of vehicle brand, to discover and access charging points on its EV charging network.
HMIL is also continuing to expand its own DC fast-charging infrastructure. It currently has 183 operational DC fast-charging stations and plans to increase this network to 600 stations by 2030.
Hyundai and Jio-bp to explore customer offers
HMIL and Jio-bp said they will explore opportunities to introduce customer offers in the future as part of the partnership. No details of such offers were provided in the announcement.
