Skoda Auto India Records Highest Half-Yearly Sales with 36,194 Units
The Czech automaker sold 36,194 vehicles between January and June 2025, marking 134% growth over the same period last year and propelling it to seventh position nationally.
Skoda Auto India achieved its highest half-yearly sales performance in the company's 25-year history in the country, selling 36,194 units in the first six months of 2025. The figures represent a 134% increase compared to the first half of 2024, according to company data released Tuesday.
The sales performance elevated Skoda Auto India to the seventh position among automotive brands in India, marking an improvement of four positions from its 2024 ranking. The current half-yearly sales surpassed the company's previous record of 28,899 units set in the first half of 2022.
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India, attributed the growth to customer acceptance of the company's products and services. The company expanded its model lineup in 2025 with the launch of the Kylaq, its first sub-4-meter SUV, alongside existing models including the Slavia sedan, Kushaq SUV, and Kodiaq luxury SUV.
Skoda Auto India has significantly expanded its retail presence, growing from 120 customer touchpoints in 2021 to over 295 currently. The company plans to reach 350 touchpoints by the end of 2025 as part of its market expansion strategy.
The automaker has also enhanced its after-sales services, making its Skoda Supercare maintenance package complimentary for one year with every vehicle purchase. Under this program, customers face no routine service expenses for the first two years of ownership or until 30,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first.
Skoda Auto India, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, has been operating in the Indian market since 2001. The company currently offers four models across different segments, featuring automatic transmissions and direct injection turbocharged engines throughout its portfolio.
The sales milestone comes as Skoda Auto celebrates its 130th anniversary globally while marking 25 years of operations in India.
