Royal Enfield Enters EV Space With Flying Flea C6 at ₹2.79 Lakh; BaaS Option Lowers Entry to ₹1.99 Lakh
Bookings open April 10 in Bengaluru; deliveries from end-May as the company begins phased rollout.
Royal Enfield on Thursday entered the electric two-wheeler segment with the launch of the Flying Flea C6, priced at ₹2.79 lakh (ex-showroom), with a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option lowering the upfront cost to ₹1.99 lakh.
Bookings for the motorcycle will open on April 10 in Bengaluru, with deliveries scheduled from end-May, the company said.
The Eicher Motors-backed brand said it will follow a phased rollout, beginning with Bengaluru, as it looks to build a presence in the premium electric motorcycle segment.
The Flying Flea C6 is positioned as an urban-focused electric motorcycle, with the company aiming to differentiate on design, performance, and connectivity rather than compete on price.
The BaaS model is expected to ease upfront acquisition costs in a segment where affordability remains a key consideration, while allowing Royal Enfield to retain a premium positioning.
The motorcycle has been developed in-house by a team of more than 200 engineers across India and the UK, with over 45 patent applications filed around the platform.
It integrates the motor, battery, battery management system, and vehicle control software into a single architecture designed to deliver a connected riding experience.
The Flying Flea C6 offers a top speed of 115 km per hour and delivers over 400 Nm of wheel torque. It is powered by a 3.91 kWh battery pack and supports multiple charging options, including rapid, standard, and trickle modes.
Charging from 20% to 80% takes just over 60 minutes, the company said.
The motorcycle also features connected technologies such as over-the-air updates, navigation, and remote monitoring, along with rider-assist systems including traction control and lean-angle ABS.
Managing Director B. Govindarajan said the launch marks the company’s entry into electric motorcycling, with a pipeline of electric products planned over time.
The move comes as competition intensifies in India’s electric two-wheeler market, with manufacturers adopting varied strategies on pricing, technology, and ownership models.
