Noida International Airport Partners with Uber for Ground Transportation Services

Noida International Airport announced a partnership with Uber on Thursday to provide ground transportation services for passengers at the upcoming airport facility. The collaboration establishes dedicated pickup zones and on-ground assistance for travelers using the ride-hailing platform.

Under the agreement, Uber will operate exclusive parking spaces for driver-partners and provide wayfinding assistance from airport gates to pickup locations. The service will include real-time tracking, cashless payments, and access to multiple vehicle categories including UberGo, Uber Premier, and UberXL options. The platform will operate round-the-clock to serve passengers at all hours.

Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, said the partnership aims to make passenger journeys efficient from door to door. Arnab Kumar, Director of Business Development at Uber India and South Asia, described the collaboration as part of the company's commitment to providing reliable mobility solutions.

The airport plans to serve as a multimodal transport hub offering various connectivity options beyond ride-hailing services. Management indicated they are working with government stakeholders to improve private vehicle access and expand public transportation connections to the facility.

Noida International Airport, operating under the IATA code DXN, will serve the greater Delhi area and Western Uttar Pradesh when it opens. The facility is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, through a public-private partnership with the Uttar Pradesh and Indian governments.

The airport received its concession in October 2021 for a 40-year period. Initial operations will feature one runway and terminal with capacity for 12 million passengers annually, with provisions for expansion in future phases. The project represents part of India's infrastructure development to accommodate growing air traffic in the National Capital Region.

Uber began operations in India in 2013 and currently serves 125 cities across the country. The company reports completing over 3 billion trips in India and supporting more than one million drivers on its platform. The partnership with Noida International Airport adds to Uber's presence at major transportation hubs across the country.
