Maruti Suzuki True Value Reaches 6 Million Pre-Owned Car Sales

Maruti Suzuki True Value has sold 6 million pre-owned cars since its establishment in 2001, the company announced Tuesday. The organized retail channel sold 492,697 vehicles in the fiscal year 2024-25, contributing to the milestone figure.

The pre-owned car division serves customers across 606 showrooms in 305 cities nationwide. First-time buyers represent 85 percent of True Value customers, with an average age of 31 years, according to company data.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer for Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, attributed the milestone to customer trust in the certified pre-owned vehicle program. The company subjects all vehicles to a 376-point inspection process and refurbishes them using Maruti Suzuki parts before certification.

True Value offers warranties of up to one year and includes three complimentary services with certified vehicles. The company verifies service history and documentation before listing cars for sale.

The division operates digital platforms through a mobile application and website, allowing customers to search inventory by model, price, and location. The platform enables online test drive bookings and other services to support the purchase process.

Maruti Suzuki established True Value in 2001 to create an organized channel for pre-owned car sales in India's automotive market. The company also provides financing options through Maruti Suzuki Smart Finance, which partners with banks and non-banking financial companies to offer loan products.

The announcement comes as India's pre-owned car market continues to expand, driven by increasing vehicle ownership and demand for affordable transportation options.
