Maruti Suzuki Sales up 6.9% in April 2025

The mini segment recorded a significant drop with 6,332 units sold, down from 11,519 units in April 2024. However, the compact segment saw an increase.

Maruti Suzuki Sales up 6.9% in April 2025

 

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced total sales of 179,791 units for the month of April 2025, marking an almost 7% year-on-year growth from 168,089 units in April 2024. The performance reflects sustained demand across domestic and international markets.

In the domestic market, the company sold 142,053 units, including 138,704 passenger vehicles and 3,349 light commercial vehicles (Super Carry). Additionally, Maruti Suzuki supplied 9,827 units to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), showing a notable increase from 5,481 units in the same month last year. This brings the total domestic sales, including OEM, to 151,880 units—up from 145,929 units in April 2024.

The export segment also registered strong growth, with 27,911 units shipped overseas compared to 22,160 units in the corresponding period last year.

In terms of passenger vehicle segments, the mini segment (Alto and S-Presso) recorded a significant drop with 6,332 units sold, down from 11,519 units in April 2024. However, the compact segment (Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR) saw an increase, rising to 61,591 units from 56,953 units last year. Combined, the mini and compact segments totaled 67,923 units, showing a slight decline from 68,472 units.

Sales of the mid-size sedan Ciaz fell to 321 units from 867 in April 2024, bringing the total passenger car category (mini, compact, and mid-size) to 68,244 units compared to 69,339 units the previous year.

Utility vehicles (including models like Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6) remained a strong performer with 59,022 units sold, up from 56,553 units. The Eeco van also saw a slight dip with 11,438 units sold versus 12,060 last year.
