Magenta Mobility expands 4-Wheeler EV cargo fleet with new intercity and interstate services

Magenta Mobility has expanded its position in the electric mobility sector by becoming one of the prominent 4-wheeler electric cargo fleet operators in India. The company now operates a fleet of over 500 electric cargo 4-wheelers, enhancing urban and intercity logistics with a focus on sustainable transportation.

Following its success in the 3-wheeler EV segment, where it caters to clients such as Amazon, Flipkart, and BigBasket, Magenta Mobility is scaling up operations in the 4-wheeler EV category. This strategic development aligns with the growing demand for electric vehicles in logistics. The company has introduced interstate logistics services across major routes, including a 180-kilometer corridor connecting Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi, as well as a 140-kilometer corridor linking Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. For intercity logistics, Magenta has launched a service covering the Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai route, spanning a 422-kilometer round trip.

The 4-wheeler electric cargo fleet offers a range of 150 kilometers per charge, allowing for longer journeys while reducing carbon emissions and operational costs. Unlike earlier electric vehicles, which were typically used for intra-city operations with ranges of 100-120 kilometers per charge, Magenta Mobility’s recent trials have demonstrated the feasibility of EVs for longer intercity and interstate logistics.

Maxson Lewis, Founder and CEO of Magenta Mobility, stated, “Our entry into intercity and interstate logistics highlights our efforts to promote sustainable and efficient transportation solutions. The adoption of electric vehicles in mid-mile and first-mile logistics is steadily advancing, contributing to the decarbonization of the sector.”

Looking ahead, the company aims to expand its fleet by adding 10,000 EVs, including both 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers, in the next financial year. It also plans to extend its operations to cities such as Nashik, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Indore, and Kolkata
