Lumax Auto Technologies Limited will set up a new mechatronics manufacturing facility at Manesar, Haryana, with a capital outlay of around ₹150 crore. The board of directors approved the project at a meeting on Saturday, 24 October 2026, to meet demand for electronic components from leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
The company expects peak annualised turnover of around ₹500 crore after commissioning. The plant is expected to be commissioned in two phases, starting in the third quarter of FY 2028.
The facility will make electronic components, including body control modules. The company said the capital expenditure will be funded by a mix of debt and internal accruals.
Mechatronics is one of several segments at Lumax, which also covers lighting, transmission, structures and control systems, advanced plastics, and green and alternate fuels. The mechatronics segment produces power window switches, telematics control units, antennas, vehicle communication systems and oxygen sensors.
In October 2025, the company opened a technology centre in Bengaluru called SHIFT, equipped for hardware-in-the-loop testing and rapid prototyping of products for software-defined vehicles.
According to Lumax's FY26 annual report, the centre has been working on software integration for upcoming body control modules and on localising electronics and software products offered by its joint ventures.
The company plans to embed its own software in its mechatronics and telematics products and link them with interior products, to raise content per vehicle.
