Kia India has commenced production of the all-new Seltos at its manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant development for the automaker's operations in the country's competitive mid-SUV segment.
The company will announce pricing for the redesigned Seltos on January 2, 2026. The new generation represents an evolution of the model that has been a cornerstone of Kia's portfolio since production began at the Anantapur plant in 2019.
The updated Seltos incorporates substantial dimensional changes, measuring 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,690 mm. These specifications position it as the longest vehicle in its segment. The vehicle is built on Kia's K3 platform, which the company describes as delivering improved structural rigidity and refined driving dynamics.
Design elements include the Digital Tiger Face front styling, Ice Cube LED projection headlamps, and automatic streamline door handles. The interior features a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display and an eight-speaker Bose audio system.
The vehicle offers three engine options: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm, a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine generating 160 PS and 253 Nm, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine delivering 116 PS and 250 Nm. Transmission choices include six-speed manual, six-speed intelligent manual, continuously variable, seven-speed dual-clutch, and six-speed automatic options.
Safety equipment includes 24 standard safety features and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems package with 21 functions. Connectivity features comprise wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the Kia Connect 2.0 system, and over-the-air software update capability.
The model range consists of four standard trims—HTE, HTK, HTX, and GTX—along with four option variants. An X-Line styling package is available on select variants.
Managing Director and CEO Gwanggu Lee stated that production teams are prepared to minimize customer waiting periods for the new model. He noted that the vehicle reflects feedback from Indian customers and represents the collaboration between the Anantapur team and supplier partners.
The Anantapur facility, established in 2019, serves both domestic and export markets with an annual production capacity of 300,000 units. The plant has completed approximately 1.5 million vehicle dispatches, comprising over 1.2 million domestic sales and more than 367,000 exports.
Kia India currently operates 819 customer touchpoints across 370 cities. The company's product lineup in India includes nine models: Seltos, Syros, Sonet, Carens, Carnival, EV6, EV9, Carens Clavis, and Carens Clavis EV.
