Hyundai Motor India Foundation impacts over 2 million lives in 2024 with ₹400 crore investment in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability across India.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) reached over 2 million people through social initiatives in 2024, implementing programs across 26 states and 1,250 villages in India. The foundation has invested ₹400 crore since 2020 in mid-to-long term social projects.
Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India Limited, stated that the foundation focused on addressing challenges in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability while working toward community self-reliance.
The foundation's initiatives generated income benefits worth over ₹40 crore for local communities. Environmental projects resulted in the reduction of 21,811 tons of CO2 emissions through the planting of 21,000 trees, while waste management efforts led to the recycling of 752,250 kg of materials.
HMIF provided scholarships worth ₹3.38 crore to students across India and supported 481 specially-abled individuals through targeted programs. The foundation also distributed grants totaling ₹1.65 crore to 150 multidisciplinary artists since 2021.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation, established as the philanthropic arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited, operates under three core pillars: Earth, Mobility, and Hope. These programs align with Hyundai's global vision of "Progress for Humanity."
The foundation's work represents a significant corporate social responsibility initiative in India's automotive sector. Hyundai Motor India, which began operations in 1996, has integrated its CSR activities with its business operations through the foundation.
The programs implemented by HMIF focus on sustainable development and community empowerment, contributing to both environmental conservation and social welfare across India's rural and urban areas.
