Hyundai Foundation Disburses Rs 3.38 Crore in Scholarships

The Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has completed its scholarship distribution process, awarding ₹3.38 crore to 783 underprivileged students across India through its Hope Scholarship Program.

The program, which commenced in August 2024, evaluated applications from 23 states nationwide. Recipients include 440 students preparing for Civil Services examinations and Common Law Admission Tests, as well as 343 students from various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) working on innovation projects.

At the award ceremony held yesterday, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju presented the scholarships alongside HMIF officials. The Minister highlighted the program's contribution to skill development and self-reliance among India's youth.

"This initiative provides essential financial support to talented students from challenging economic backgrounds," said Rijiju during the ceremony.

Gopalakrishnan Chathapuram Sivaramakrishnan, Trustee of HMIF, emphasized the program's alignment with Hyundai's broader mission. "We're focusing on developing future policymakers and innovators who can contribute meaningfully to India's progress," he stated.

The outreach campaign reportedly connected with over 44,000 students nationwide before the final selection process. BharatCares is implementing the scholarship program on behalf of the Foundation.

The scholarships specifically target students from underprivileged socioeconomic backgrounds who have demonstrated academic merit or innovative potential in their respective fields.
