Hero MotoCorp Reports 5.11 Lakh Retail Registrations Despite Production Halt

Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, dispatched 305,406 units in April 2025 while recording 5.05 lakh VAHAN registrations for its internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, demonstrating strong retail performance despite a temporary production halt.

The company implemented a planned operational pause from April 17-19 at its Dharuhera, Gurugram, Haridwar, and Neemrana facilities to facilitate supply chain alignment and conduct scheduled maintenance and infrastructure enhancements. Production is expected to normalize in May 2025.

Despite the production interruption, Hero MotoCorp has maintained a consistent month-on-month increase in retail market share throughout 2025.

VIDA, the company's electric mobility brand, delivered 7,116 units of the VIDA V2 electric scooter in April and recorded 6,123 EV registrations on VAHAN. These figures represent a significant year-on-year increase for the brand's electric vehicle segment.

Total motorcycle dispatches for April 2025 reached 286,089 units, while scooter dispatches totaled 19,317 units. Domestic sales accounted for 288,524 units, with exports contributing 16,882 units. These figures show a decline from April 2024, when the company reported total dispatches of 533,585 units.

In international news, Hero MotoCorp expanded its global presence by launching four new products in Sri Lanka - the Xoom 110, Hunk 160R 4V, Xtreme 125R, and HF Deluxe - working with its partner Abans Auto. The company plans to establish over 500 customer touchpoints across Sri Lanka by May 2025.

Additionally, Hero MotoCorp announced a three-year partnership with professional golfers Akshay Bhatia and Sahith Theegala as international brand ambassadors, furthering its global brand development strategy.
