Hero MotoCorp receives more than 25,000 bookings for Harley-Davidson X-440

The company claims 65%+ of the bookings are for top-end variant which is priced at RS 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hero MotoCorp receives more than 25,000 bookings for Harley-Davidson X-440

Harley Davidson's entry into mid-size motorcycles has received a strong response from the Indian market. Hero MotoCorp its Indian partner announced that the brand has received 25,597 bookings for the Harley-Davidson X440, since opening the bookings on the 4 July, 2023.

The booking window has now been closed, and the new booking window will be announced shortly, the company said in its intimation to the Bombay Stock Exchange.  

Hero MotoCorp will start production of the Harley-Davidson X440 in September 2023 and commence customer deliveries from October onwards.

The introductory ex-showroom prices have now been revised upwards and the new prices for the Denim, Vivid and S variants will be Rs 2,39,500, Rs 2,59,500 and Rs 2,79,500 respectively, the official statement added.

Niranjan Gupta, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hero MotoCorp said he is delighted with the customer response to the Harley-Davidson X440 and he was heartened to see the confidence shown by the customers in Hero MotoCorp’s foray into this segment. 

"What is even more heartening is that the majority of our bookings are coming from the top-end model, clearly indicating that customers are willing to pay a higher price for the right brand and right model. This is just the beginning of our journey to win in the premium segment. More launches will follow soon, as we ensure our presence across the portfolio,” added Gupta.  

Yet another Royal Enfield rival Triumph Motorcycle, which entered the Indian market around the same time too has received close to 20,000 bookings, say sources.
