Eicher Trucks & Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), hosted its second Women Transporters Delegation at the company's Bhopal manufacturing plant on March 25, 2025. The two-day event brought together women fleet owners and transport entrepreneurs to discuss technological advancements and alternative fuels in the logistics sector.
The delegation toured Eicher's Industry 4.0 compliant commercial vehicle factory, visited an all-woman production line, and participated in test drives of electric trucks. The event included interactive sessions with VECV's executive management team and senior women leaders, focusing on the industry's future direction.
Participants experienced Eicher's latest innovations, including the Eicher Pro X EV and Eicher Pro 2055 EV, while engaging in panel discussions about alternative fuels, artificial intelligence, and digitization in the commercial vehicle industry.
Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO of VECV, emphasized the company's belief that inclusivity strengthens businesses and drives growth. "Technology and digital solutions are transforming the industry, making businesses smarter and more efficient," Aggarwal stated during the welcome address.
Bhagwan K Bindiganavile, EVP of Strategic Planning, Brand & Communications at VECV, noted that the Indian commercial vehicle industry is transforming in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Seven Cs" for mobility solutions: Common, Connected, Convenient, Congestion-free, Charged, Clean, and Cutting-edge.
The initiative, organized in collaboration with industry veteran Girish Mirchandani, reflects Eicher's commitment to fostering inclusion in the traditionally male-dominated commercial vehicle sector. It aligns with the company's philosophy of "Nayi Soch, Naye Raaste" (New Thinking, New Paths), which promotes forward-looking approaches to commercial mobility.
VE Commercial Vehicles Limited is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited that offers Eicher-branded trucks and buses while exclusively distributing Volvo Trucks in India. The company has positioned itself as a leader in modernizing commercial transportation across the country through innovative and sustainable solutions.
