Cyient and Allegro MicroSystems establish Center of Excellence in Hyderabad for automotive semiconductor development
The new CoE will focus on creating advanced magnetic sensors and power semiconductors, supporting innovations in electric vehicles, ADAS, and embedded systems, while enhancing Allegro's presence and expertise in India.
Cyient, a global engineering services company, has announced an expanded partnership with Allegro MicroSystems, a provider of power and sensing solutions, through the launch of a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad, India.
Situated at Cyient's Manikonda Campus, the CoE will focus on the development of magnetic sensors and power semiconductor products for the automotive sector. The facility was inaugurated by Allegro MicroSystems President and CEO Vineet Nargolwala, alongside senior executives Max Glover and Suman Narayan.
The facility will employ over 100 engineers specialising in areas such as post-silicon validation, design verification, analog and mixed-signal verification, and embedded systems. The CoE aims to enhance Allegro MicroSystems’s operations in India by utilising local expertise and fostering collaboration within the region’s technology ecosystem.
The CoE is expected to support the development of sensor and power integrated circuit (IC) products used in applications such as electric vehicles and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The collaboration will also address trends in the automotive sector, including the increasing use of magnetic sensors in electric vehicles, the adoption of high-power devices like silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN), and the integration of embedded systems.
Vineet Nargolwala, CEO of Allegro MicroSystems, noted that the partnership with Cyient will help the company innovate and deliver solutions that meet the needs of the automotive industry. Krishna Bodanapu, Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Cyient, highlighted that the CoE aligns with Cyient's goal of supporting semiconductor advancements for various industries.
