Cityflo Partners with BharatBenz for On-Site Bus Servicing in Thane
On-site "SpotServe Plus" facility aims to eliminate transit downtime and supports fleet expansion agreement for 200 additional buses.
Cityflo has partnered with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (BharatBenz) and dealer partner Autobahn Trucking Corporation to set up an OEM-standard workshop inside its Thane parking depot.
Dubbed "SpotServe Plus," the facility is dedicated exclusively to servicing Cityflo’s fleet of over 300 BharatBenz buses, marking the first time an OEM-standard workshop has been established within a single operator’s yard in India.
The facility will maintain on-site stocks of genuine parts and will be staffed by BharatBenz-trained technicians to execute overnight repairs. Cityflo says this will help it to avoid long transit times to distant service hubs.
The establishment of the captive maintenance hub has also led to an MoU between the companies to induct an additional 200 BharatBenz buses into Cityflo's fleet operations.
Rushabh Shah, Co-founder of Cityflo, said, "Depending on the issue, downtime of a bus can range from 4 hours to 2 weeks. Add the drive to a distant service centre and finding a slot, a simple repair can ground a bus for days. This facility gives us the operational backbone that’s crucial to scale quickly and efficiently."
