Chartered Speed Deploys 10 Electric Buses in Arunachal Pradesh
The company expands its fleet with electric buses, supporting sustainable transport initiatives in the region.
Chartered Speed has deployed 10 electric buses in Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS). The fleet, operating in Itanagar, Namsai, and Pasighat, was officially flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on June 5, 2025. The initiative aims to enhance connectivity while supporting the region’s transition toward sustainable public transportation.
The 9-meter, air-conditioned electric buses are equipped with strategically installed charging stations to facilitate seamless operations. These stations enable efficient turnaround times and reduce downtime, ensuring consistent service reliability.
Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director, Chartered Speed, highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding eco-friendly transportation. “At Chartered Speed, we believe that sustainable mobility should not be limited by geography. Our association with APSTS and the deployment of electric buses reflect our commitment to building a cleaner, more connected future where even the most remote regions benefit from modern, eco-friendly transportation solutions. This initiative marks a meaningful step forward in accelerating India’s green mobility transition and creating future-ready transport ecosystems,” Gandhi said.
Chartered Speed is transitioning its fleet from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to green fuel-powered buses, aligning with its long-term vision of promoting sustainable transportation. The company currently operates over 1,800 buses across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam, serving 3.5 lakh passengers daily with a workforce of more than 4,800 employees.
In addition to its latest deployment in Arunachal Pradesh, Chartered Speed has secured a contract to operate over 900 electric buses across 13 cities in three states under Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL).
