Automotive Test Systems and Amrita University partner to establish EV test lab in Coimbatore
The new lab which is the extension of an existing facility in the Amrita University campus in Coimbatore houses a 48kW electric motor test bench, battery test lab, and a simulation lab.
Testing equipment supplier Automotive Test Systems (ATS) and Amrita University have inaugurated a new test facility at the latter's campus in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The new EV lab which has been set up as an extension of an existing lab facility - Amrita Automotive Research and Technology Centre (AARTC) - in the university's campus, is dedicated for electric vehicle testing.
The EV lab houses a 48kW electric motor test bench, battery test lab, and a simulation lab, and will enable industry-academia conncet by enabling research in the growing area of electric vehicles. The facility also features software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) labs integrated with the test bench.
The new lab was inaugurated by Latha Chembrakalam, VP and Head of Technical Centre India, Continental Automotive; Ramadhas Arumugam Sakunthalai, Director, GARC; Rajesh D, VP, Volvo Group Trucks Technology; Bhaktha Keshavachar, CEO, Chara Technologies, and Ramanathan Srinivasan, MD, ATS.
