VECV to Supply 150 Volvo 9600 Luxury Buses to Vijayanand Travels
Intercity operator places largest single private order with Volvo Buses India, including 70 to 80 units with onboard washrooms.
Vijayanand Travels Private Limited (VTPL) has announced on Friday that it has placed an order for 150 units of the Volvo 9600 luxury sleeper coach with Volvo Buses India, marking the largest single procurement by any private bus operator with the manufacturer.
The vehicle handover ceremony took place in Bengaluru on Friday, VTPL claiming it takes its operational Volvo fleet to the highest volume among private fleet operators in the country. The order includes a dedicated batch of around 70 to 80 coaches fitted with factory-installed onboard washrooms to cater to long-haul interstate routes across South, West, and Central India.
Volvo 9600 Sleeper Coach - Specifications and Features
Manufactured at VE Commercial Vehicles' (VECV) assembly facility in Hoskote, Karnataka, the Volvo 9600 sleeper coach accommodates 40 berths alongside 8.5 cubic metres of luggage capacity. The platform is powered by an 8-litre Volvo D8K diesel engine producing 260 kW (350 HP) at 2200 RPM and 1350 Nm of peak torque.
