Auto Industry Salary Increments Projected at 9.2 Percent for FY27: Report
TeamLease Services study shows sales, automation, and digital roles leading compensation growth.
Salary growth in India's automotive sector is projected at 9.2 percent for FY2026–27, moderating slightly from 9.4 percent in FY2025–26, according to TeamLease Services’ Jobs & Salaries Primer report.
The study, based on a survey of 1,268 businesses across 20 cities, highlights that compensation increases remain concentrated around revenue generation, digital dealership integration, and automated roles.
Consumer-facing positions command the highest increments, with Marketing Executives and Showroom Sales Executives projected at 10 percent, followed by Field Sales Executives at 9.6 percent.
In digital operations, System Administrators are projected to receive a 9.7 percent increment, while IT Support Executives stand at 9.6 percent. For shop-floor automation and technical servicing, CNC and Robot Operators are projected at 9.5 percent, with Service Engineers at 9.4 percent.
Geographically, established OEM manufacturing hubs Gurgaon and Chennai lead salary growth at 9.8 percent each. EV assembly and mobility R&D hubs Delhi and Pune follow closely at 9.7 percent each.
The report indicates that salary increments are moving away from broad-based distributions, aligning compensation directly with EV technology adoption, dealership digitization, and advanced manufacturing workflows.
