Ather Energy Launches Rizta S with 3.7kWh Battery at Rs 1.37 Lakh, Offering 159 km IDC Range

Ather Energy Limited has introduced a new variant in its Rizta family scooter range with the launch of the Rizta S equipped with a 3.7kWh battery. Priced at Rs 1,37,047 (ex-showroom Delhi), the scooter delivers an IDC-certified range of 159 km and is positioned to meet the needs of daily commuters seeking higher range within an accessible price bracket.

The Rizta series, which debuted in 2024 as Ather’s first family-oriented electric scooter lineup, now includes four variants. The range has accounted for more than 60% of Ather’s overall sales and recently crossed one lakh unit sales within a year.

According to Ravneet S. Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, the new variant addresses the requirement of users with higher daily travel needs, offering extended range while retaining the features associated with the Rizta platform.

The Rizta S 3.7kWh maintains core design features such as a 34-litre underseat storage, expandable by 22 litres with the optional Frunk, a wide seat for rider and pillion comfort, and a practical floorboard layout. Despite the increased battery capacity, the vehicle’s form factor and usability remain unchanged.

The variant includes a 7-inch DeepView™ display with turn-by-turn navigation, along with safety and convenience features such as AutoHold™, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, Tow and Theft Alerts, Find My Scooter, and Alexa integration. It also supports over-the-air updates and provides access to Ather Grid, the company’s national charging network, which includes more than 3,900 charging points.

Home charging is supported through Ather’s in-house solution, included with the vehicle. Buyers can also opt into the Ather Eight70 warranty plan, which covers the scooter for 8 years or 80,000 km (whichever comes first), with a guaranteed minimum of 70% battery health.

Bookings for the Rizta S 3.7kWh variant are now open through Ather’s retail outlets and online portal. Deliveries are expected to begin in July. The scooter is priced at Rs 1,37,258 (ex-showroom) in Mumbai, Rs 1,37,999 in Bangalore, and Rs 1,39,312 in Chennai.

Ather Energy Limited was founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. The company manufactures electric two-wheelers under the Ather 450 and Rizta product lines. It operates one of India’s largest 2W fast-charging networks, the Ather Grid, with 3,578 chargers across India and 33 in Nepal and Sri Lanka as of March 31, 2025.
