Toyota Kirloskar Signs MoU With Karnataka Govt to Establish 300 Acre Technology Hub

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Karnataka to establish a new technology and engineering facility called the TKM Bizintel Hub. The proposed hub will be set up across 300 acres in KWIN City, an integrated smart city development located along the Doddaballapur to Dabaspet Highway in Bangalore. The agreement was finalized in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Large and Medium Industries Minister Dr. M.B. Patil.

The new facility will serve multiple operational functions aimed at increasing the overall competitiveness of the manufacturer's value chain. Key activities at the site will include the testing and evaluation of new mobility solutions, driving digital transformation across corporate operations, and deploying intelligent manufacturing initiatives. The company plans to leverage the regional information technology ecosystem and skilled engineering talent to optimize its supply chain and manufacturing processes.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor operates as a joint venture between Japan's Toyota Motor Corporation, which holds an 89 percent equity stake, and Kirloskar Systems Limited, which retains the remaining 11 percent. The automaker currently maintains two production plants in Bidadi with a combined total installed capacity of up to 3.42 lakh units annually, manufacturing models such as the Innova HyCross, Fortuner, and Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The establishment of the new hub aligns with the broader localization strategy of the company and its long term carbon neutrality objectives.
