Aprilia Tuono 457 revealed at EICMA 2024

One year after the RS 457 sportbike was shown to the world, Aprilia has now finally given us the Tuono 457, its naked counterpart.

Aprilia Tuono 457: is it just a naked RS 457?

Well, yes, but that’s no bad thing. The 457cc motor is rated for the same 47.6hp and 43.5Nm of torque here. Also carried forward is the 6-speed gearbox, with the slipper clutch and the bidirectional quickshifter is an optional extra here too. The electronic rider aids, main frame, suspension and brakes are also shared between the small twin-cylinder Tuono and RS.

Where the Tuono 457 differs from the RS is in the new headlight. It still has three separate pods but the design is all-new. Where the RS 457 apes the design of the bigger Aprilia sportbikes, the Tuono 457 goes down a different route. The DRLs have a similar shape here but they’re much smaller on the Tuono 457. The main central pod which houses the headlight is the main area of difference between the Tuono 457 and the rest of the Aprilia lineup.

Another small difference between the Tuono and RS 457 is that the naked bike uses a marginally smaller 12.7 litre fuel tank, compared to the RS’ 13 litre unit. The weight of both the bikes, at 175kg, is the same.

There are a bunch of accessories available for the Tuono 457 including saddlebags, a tank bag, brake and clutch lever protectors, sintered brake pads, a pillion seat cowl and much more. We expect the made-in-India Tuono 457 to be launched in India early next year and it will likely be positioned below the Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India) RS 457.
