**Mumbai, September 23, 2025** – Czech automaker Škoda Auto India has expanded distribution of its entry-level SUV, the Kylaq, through the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) network across India. The move enables eligible armed forces personnel to purchase the vehicle at concessional rates through the Ministry of Defence's retail chain.

The CSD operates as one of India's largest retail networks, serving defence personnel through Unit Run Canteens and online portals with subsidised pricing on various products. Škoda's partnership with CSD represents the company's strategy to diversify sales channels beyond traditional dealerships.

The Kylaq, manufactured in India on Volkswagen Group's MQB-A0-IN platform, received a five-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP for both adult and child occupant protection. The SUV features a 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged engine available with either six-speed manual or automatic transmission options.

Pricing through CSD outlets starts at ₹8,09,994 for the base Signature variant with manual transmission, while the top-spec Prestige automatic variant is priced at ₹11,63,417. All prices are ex-showroom.

Škoda Auto India has indicated plans to further expand into government fleet sales, certified pre-owned markets, and rural distribution channels as part of its growth strategy in the Indian market.

The company currently operates over 310 customer touchpoints across 177 cities in India and offers four models locally: Kylaq, Slavia, Kushaq, and Kodiaq. Škoda Auto India has been present in the market since 2001.

Defence personnel can access purchasing options through the CSD online portal or physical canteen locations nationwide.
