Tata Motors launches the Nano CNG emax

Mumbai, October 8, 2013: Tata Motors has launched a CNG version of its Nano. Revealed in June 2013 as part of its Horizonext initiative, the Nano CNG emax comes equipped with a 32-litre CNG tank. The ARAI-certified 36km per kg fuel efficiency should allow a range of 400km. The CNG-fuelled engine develops 32.5bhp and 5kgm of torque.

The ‘green’ Nano is available in two variants – CX and LX – priced at Rs 2.45 lakh and Rs 2.72 lakh respectively, (ex-showroom, Ahmedabad).

The major differences apart from the petrol variants are the CNG toggle switch and a green surround for the speedo. The Nano CNG emax is available in CNG markets like Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Lucknow.

Tata Motors showcased its emax range at the Horizonext event, held in Pune, in June 2013, with a commitment to launch its CNG range in a phased manner, in FY 14. The Nano CNG emax is the first of the five brands in the emax series of CNG cars.

Unveiling the Nano CNG emax today, Ankush Arora, senior vice-president, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (Commercial), Tata Motors, said, “From its inception, the Nano has been a path-breaking invention and the CNG version only adds to that and also underlines our commitment to be a sustainable automotive player. ”
