Montra Electric launches Super Auto three-wheeler with 155km range
The Murugappa Group’s EV brand launches the Montra Super Auto electric three-wheeler which has won the International Red Dot Design Award for 2023 in the ‘Innovative Last Mile Mobility Electric Passenger Vehicle’ category.
Montra Electric, EV brand of the Tamil Nadu-based Murugappa Group today launched its new Super Auto in Tirunelveli and handed over the first 10 units to customers.
The Montra Super Auto, which is equipped with a 10kW lithium-ion battery, has an ARAI-certified range of 203 kilometres and an on-range of 155 +/- 5km for full charge. Montra Electric is offering the Super Auto with a 3-year / 100,000km warranty with an additional extended warranty option of two years/50km.

N Senthil Kumar, MD, RR Greenline Motors, dealer partner for Montra Electric Tirunelveli, said: “Apart from environmental benefits, electric autos are helping auto drivers save Rs 300 to Rs 400 per day on their fuel bills as their average running is around 100-150km a day.”
In November, the Montra Super Auto bagged the International Red Dot Design Award for 2023 in the ‘Design Concept’ category. The award was given under the ‘Innovative Last Mile Mobility Electric Passenger Vehicle’ category. The Montra Super Auto, which has a top speed of 55kph, 0-20kph in 4 seconds, and a seating capacity of four including the driver. It develops peak power of 10kW and torque of 60 Nm. The Super Auto is available in two variants – the ePV and ePV 2.0. The Montra Super Auto dimensions are: length (2855mm), width (1350mm) and height (1750mm).
It was in December 2021 that TI Cycles of India (TII), part of the Murugappa Group, announced the Montra brand to lead its EVs business in three segments – last-mile commute, last-mile delivery and personal mobility. In the first phase, the company has rolled out its offerings in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. The Super Auto will be available across multiple touchpoints in these states.
